31 Things I Love About Halloween: The Weather

I'm hard pressed to choose between Halloween and Christmas as my favorite holiday, so I choose not to choose. There's a lot that I love about both, but every day this month, to count down to the big day I'll feature one thing that I love about Halloween. And if you like the idea of counting down to Halloween, be sure to visit John Rozum's Countdown to Halloween blog, where he links to 160 (and growing) blogs that are all doing the same thing.

Autumn weather isn't unique to Halloween of course, but as soon as I feel that snap in the air, I know Halloween's coming. Maybe it's because I grew up in Florida with unbearable summers, but the relief of Fall has always been something to look forward to. It wakes up the blood and stirs the soul. It's the most romantic time of year: just chilly enough to want to snuggle with your best cuddler on a long walk or next to a campfire, but without being so butt cold that all you want to do is get back inside. It's perfect.

Coming from someone still in Florida, I miss the fall up North. Winter, nah don't need it, but I love Fall.
I'm going up to Pitt next week, I'm so excited for the weather.

I'll have more to say about Florida's Autumn tomorrow. My love for the season was born there, but it wasn't until I moved up here that I learned what Fall really is.

The trade-off though is Spring. March and April aren't filled with magnolia and azalea blossoms in Minnesota. They're filled with dirty, slushy, melting snow.

I've probably asked you this before, but where in Florida are you? I spent time all over, but I grew up in Tallahassee.

I'm just outside Orlando. My parents moved down here from Detroit when I was 8. Besides 4 years in the AF I've been here since.

Nice. I'm jealous of your proximity to Disney World.

We spent a couple of years in Longwood and I went to Kindergarten and part of First Grade there.

OK, I'm in Altamonte Springs. Went to school in Oviedo.
Very close to the parks which my wife loves, loves, loves.

I'm from California and lately we've been having weather in the 90s. Yes, in October. I'm still having to run fans in the house.

It's been unseasonably warm here too the last week or so. Not as hot as you guys, but enough that we're wearing shorts. That's not right.
