I don't know why, but superhero cartoon themes have been frickin' awesome the last few years. This is another of the greatest TV themes of all time. Especially in Japanese.

Speaking of Batman: man, he's had a lot of theme songs over the years. I only really like two of them (both from the current The Batman cartoon), but lets check them all out anyway, okay? Okay.





This one's not embeddable, but it's the cartoon version I grew up with, so I like it. Even with Bat-Mite.



This one was done by the Edge, so it's automatically a favorite.



But -- Bono forgive me -- I actually like this one better. One of my favorite TV themes of all time.



Rest in Peace, The Batman cartoon. Can't wait to see what the next version's like.

My mom was a huge influence on my genre tastes as a kid. She was and still is a huge mystery fan, and Barnaby Jones was one of our favorite shows. We even named our dog Barnaby after the Great Detective.

Buddy Ebsen will always be Barnaby Jones, not Jed Clampett, to me. And Lee Meriwether will always be Betty; not Catwoman. Julie Newmar is Catwoman.

I want to do a series of World's Greatest TV Themes and this one's at the top of the list. I never enjoyed the show half as much as I grooved to that theme song.
