The main point of this /Film post is that Guillermo del Toro has secured Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, and Andy Serkis to reprise their Lord of the Rings roles for The Hobbit. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I was pretty much taking that for granted, so what's more interesting to me is that del Toro has also cast Doug Jones (Abe from the Hellboy movies) as Frankenstein's monster in del Toro's upcoming horror-adventure flick.
And speaking of Hellboy, there's also some bad news in the link about the outlook for future movies in that series. And I'm surprised at the reason for it.
