It's a (Tourist) Trap!

Heading out with Diane and David and some friends today for a week of vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells. The Dells are gorgeous, but you have to look past some of the cheesiest, most touristy stuff in the world to see them. Even that can be fun though and we've been there enough to have favorite places and traditions. Like the pizza place with all the antlers, the Paul Bunyan logging camp breakfast joint, the Crane Foundation, and the jungle-themed indoor water park.

Anyway, unless something's changed since last time we were there, I won't have real Internet access until I get home next Saturday. I'll do some tweeting and Facebooking from my phone, but probably won't be able to update here. Hope all my US friends have a great Independence Day (and that my Canadian friends already had a fantastic Canada Day). See you on the other side.

Jungle themed indoor water park? You've got to get pictures of that strangeness.

Enjoy the vacation.

I LOVELOVELOVE tourist traps, and shockingly, I'd never once thought of Akbar when visiting them. Now... I'll never be able to think of anything else!

LOVE the Dells! We go every year! Usually in the Fall when there are less people. Kalahari is the place to be for sure!!!

Josh, have you actually stayed in the resort? We haven't, but it looks like it would be a blast. Just wondering what the experience is like.
