The alien outpost theories I like except that the people who espouse them are so... sincere. One of these days I'll have to hire a serious-sounding British actress to narrate my "documentary" about the true history of Atlantis and how it's going to rise again and attack the surface world led by its ankle-winged Avenging Son. With music by Tangerine Dream.
So, anyway... here's some cool Atlantis art that makes me still love the Lost Continent.
Atlantis Rediscovered
I'm not sure what this is concept art for because Luca Chiarotti's blog is all in Italian and I'm too sleepy to have Google translate it for me, but I want to read/see it, whatever it is.
Nemoland
Not as badly as I want to read/see whatever this is. Also by Luca Chiarotti.
Sadko
Illustration by Ilya Repin from the Russian epic Sadko about a musician who's transported to the home of the Sea King. I found it at Chris Howard's blog, where I also learned about Howard's novel Seaborn.
Underwater Museum
Concept art for a potential, underwater museum at the site of the sunken city (and fabled library) of Alexandria.
Transportation in Atlantis

Very cool website! Are you aware of the new book, Of Atlantis by Lanaia Lee? This is a great book about the Kingdom of Atlantis before the destruction and the main characters have eternal life and turn up throughout history to play big roles in stuff like The Mayan Doomsday Prophecy and even the Third Reich. Check it out at her website: www.lanaiaslair.com
Thanks!
Yeah, I checked out OF ATLANTIS on Amazon and decided it wasn't for me. I appreciate the recommendation though. I'm always looking for new books to read.
Hi Micheal,I'm luca chiarotti, my school
the school where I teach, each year chooses a new topic is represented by all teachers and students.
This great work is completed with the construction of an exhibition in Gipsoteca Fiorentina (beautiful location) in the city of Florence. This year all the best works have been collected in a book of 80 color pages titled "Atlantis Rediscovered" which will be available in June 2010. We'd love to send you a copy as a gift
Through original project storyboards, three dimensional reproductions, prints of the various phases during the work process and illustrations, the visitors are taken on a guided journey where the secrets of this ancient society are revealed.
The citizens of Atlantis
Here begins the journey inside the history of the legendary Atlantis. The spectators will finally see the real side of this antique civilization;
the grotesque aquatic priests, powerful war machines, the strange creatures that comes from the deep sea who are worshiped as powerful gods.
