Until recently, that is, when someone recommended to me the book series by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child that starts with The Relic. They're apparently mystery/thrillers with a supernatural bend to them and that's exactly the kind of thing I'd enjoy. Knowing how a great book like The Keep can become a crappy movie (even in the capable hands of Michael Mann), I'm inclined to give the Preston/Child series a try. (Then, while I'm thinking about it, I need to go back and read F. Paul Wilson's follow-up novels to The Keep.)

Kinski says ... I've read a couple of the later Preston/Child books. They're good page turners ... and per your above ... I think better than most of Koontz more recent work anyway....
After getting bogged down in my autumn reading, I think that page turners are exactly what I need right now.
Kinski replies ...
Check their website: http://prestonchild.com/ for more information. I had read STILL LIFE WITH CROWS most recently and enjoyed it. You don't really need to read them in order (at least I don't think so ... there is probably some character interplay I missed, but it didn't divert from the book).
If you lived closer, you could borrow it. On the other hand, if you lived closer, I'd probably have to lock you up in storage with all the books anyway... Ha!!
As long as you brought me regular meals and let me out every few hours to go to the can, I could live with that deal. :)
