Nerd Lunch | Solo Drill Down

No, seriously. For real this time.

It was great getting together again with the Nerd Lunch Star Wars panel to talk about the Han Solo prequel, how it worked as a space adventure story, as a prequel, and whether it changed our perceptions and opinions on the whole concept of Star Wars anthology films.

It was hard to get a barometer on this one when it was in theaters but I think you accurately assessed it with "I'm not sure I needed it, but..."

I know we'll never get a "Miller and Lord" cut but I would be curious if should a release that may have pushed extremes in a certain direction would drive stronger opinions in the end. Its telling that all of your opinions are more reserved here than in The Last Jedi episode were it was far more divisive.

I'll also cast a vote that I would have loved to have seen James Mangold's Boba Fett, if only because he's gotten to be such a cult figure in the fandom that I'd like to see a definitive film depiction of the character rather than wade through lots of books and comics to try and piece it together myself. Maybe some of that will get repurposed for "The Manadlorian" mini series that'll be streaming on DisneyPlus.
