To Read: Walt Disney: Conversations

The University Press of Mississippi sent me a press release about a new book called Walt Disney: Conversations. I sometimes despair at what Disney's company has become (though you'll never hear me complain about Pirates), but there's no denying that he was a brilliant creator.

The book collects profiles and interviews with Walt and presents his views on things like popular culture, the role of entertainment in defining American life, and how to run a theme park. As a study on creativity, it should be fascinating.

the UMississipi conversations books are really nicely put together. I have Jason Whiton's Mort Walker one. They have a good series editor that really knows how to make a book work. This reminds me I've been meaning to get the Schulz one as well...
