Hellbent for Letterbox | The Outrage (1964)

Pax and I are joined by our pal Evan Hanson to discuss The Outrage, a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Rashômon, starring Paul Newman, William Shatner, and Edward G Robinson.

And in "Whatchoo Been Westernin'": Grit TV (feat. Death Valley Days), a comics adaptation of True Grit, and Jeff Bridges in Wild Bill.

It was I who recommended this movie Michael!

I had watched Rashomon last year and this was mentioned on one of the documentary special features as one of many film remakes. I had been looking to pull the trigger on watching it by feeding you the title but it sounds like I'm the one who dodged the bullet now!

That's right! I'm sorry I forgot that!

I think it's worth seeing just to see how it interprets the material differently, but your enjoyment will heavily depend on your tolerance for remakes in general.
