More from Otis Frampton. He and his wife Leigh are working on an animated short film called Zeek!. I don't know what it's about yet, but from Otis' production journal I can tell that it'll have submarines, jungle islands, waterfalls, giant bug monsters, and at least part of it takes place in outer space. In other words: awesome.
Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie

The Dawn Treader movie sails along without Disney. It's got a writer and a release date already. I'm glad to see that it's going to be a Christmas film again. I think a huge part of Prince Caspian's problem was that they wanted it to be a summer blockbuster and it just wasn't designed to be that kind of movie.
"The Fake"
The fourth story in this long post at Golden Age Comic Book Stories is about a sailor who claims to have found Atlantis. The story's not that good actually, but the art is fantastic especially when the sailor goes into Atlantis to look around.
The Aquaman Problem
Dorian explains why there's nothing wrong with Aquaman's core concept and theorizes that the character's lameness is directly related to the amount that writers deviate from that core.
As much as I don't disagree with Dorian, I'd be really interested in reading a story like the one that J Kempf suggests:

Smallville Zatanna
By now I'm sure you've all seen the pics of Serinda Swan in her Smallville Zatanna costume. I've been waiting for my issue of TV Guide to arrive so I could scan the picture for myself, but I let my subscription go and I guess my final issue was the one right before this one. Fortunately, Sneakpeek.ca made good with the high res hook-up.
Looks like I'll be watching at least one more episode of Smallville. Why couldn't they have done Black Canary that well?

And as long as we're on the subject of people dressed like Zatanna, how about another photo of Meagan Van Burkleo? I've linked to her costume work before, but she's got her own blog now and it's pretty awesome. Far more than just pictures of the costumes, she goes into detail about the art that inspires her choices and the decisions she made when creating each piece.

Not a costume, thank God. This is right out of a comic and I'm afraid I'm going to have to send you over to Siskoid's blog to see it.

That Kate Bishop girl
Some good news for fans of the Kate Bishop Hawkeye. Maybe.
You have to squint your eyes really hard, read between the lines, and hope your little heart out, but it looks like maybe Marvel just might be letting Kate defend her title as Hawkeye from Bullseye after all.
First we have this scene from New Avengers #50 letting us know that yes, someone remembers there's another Hawkeye running around out there besides the Dark one.
Thanks to Lady, That's My Skull for that scan. And you simply must click there to see why he posted it and what he does with it. It's even more hilarious than Mockingbird and Ms. Marvel's poses - though related to them - and that's saying something.
Anyway, if you take that meager acknowledgment and marry it with this statement from a recent interview with Dark Reign: Hawkeye writer Andy Diggle...

Short of gorillas riding dinosaurs...
While describing his half of the Broken Trinity: Aftermath one-shot, Ron Marz asked, "Short of gorillas riding dinosaurs, what could be cooler than that?" Either he's been reading my column or I'm not nearly as clever as I think I am. I'm not betting that it's the former explanation, but it made me smile anyway.
As long as we're on the subject, this seems like an appropriate place to link to some reviews I've done for Robot 6 since we started that up. In case you're interested. I'll try to remember to do this once a month.

Billy Idol: Billy Idol
I was good and hooked on New Wave by 1982, thanks in large part to my grandmother. She had cable (we didn't) and we'd watch MTV when we went to her house. "Love My Way" by The Psychedelic Furs and Billy Idol's "White Wedding" were getting a lot of play on MTV and quickly became favorites of mine. Those two songs pretty much decided where my musical tastes went from there, but - thanks to his charisma - I was always a much bigger Billy Idol fan than a Furs one.
I can't embed the "White Wedding" video, but here's the link if you want a reminder of how awesome Billy is.
