I can't believe *I* get the over-"achiever" rep.

I really liked the side-sequel approach to Cloverfield, and that it used a different way to achieve a "cheap" indie look.

I love your capsule review of the Peanuts Movie. It was indeed all those things.

Wasn't even aware of that King Arthur movie, perhaps because Kiera Knightly is my kryptonite. His shorts run about 20 minutes, but if you need something for a longer workout, most of his features go for about an hour.Michael Mayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12514945570212261283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7857882.post-62906249132789905792016-03-29T20:58:29.568-05:002016-03-29T20:58:29.568-05:00Again, I 'm with you on not watching much regu...Again, I 'm with you on not watching much regular TV. Its usually just half hour cartoons or full length feature films for me.

I've try binge watching and burned through good shows like "Buffy" and "Arrested Development". When you watch episodes in such close succession the flaws become more apparent and the quality doesn't stick in your mind for long.

Last time I marathoned through something was years back were I ran the treadmill while watching subtitled anime, so I didn't need to any sound, so maybe I'll get to catch up with your silent movie queue while working the loud equipment!Erik Johnson Illustratorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11184274387021011687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7857882.post-56785640041882253502016-03-29T17:36:23.723-05:002016-03-29T17:36:23.723-05:00"Thats a pretty impressive viewing list for j..."Thats a pretty impressive viewing list for just seven days."

Yeah. A lot of those are short, which helps, but it also helps that we don't watch much actual TV. We'll usually have a show that we're working our way through, but we're usually watching movies.

"I feel similarly about Ridley Scott's Robin Hood with Russell Crowe."

Me too. I like it a lot as a medieval adventure, but it's not what I want from a Robin Hood movie.

For Potter, I'm not going to watch the movies again until I finish the books. It's been so long since I've seen them that I'm able to listen to the books without comparing them to the movies too much. Really enjoying that.Michael Mayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12514945570212261283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7857882.post-79918370600709939032016-03-28T09:45:14.894-05:002016-03-28T09:45:14.894-05:00Yeah, King Arthur has a great cast and is somewhat...Yeah, King Arthur has a great cast and is somewhat interesting on its own. But my problem is that it's a terrible King Arthur movie. I feel similarly about Ridley Scott's Robin Hood with Russell Crowe.

We are reading the Potter books simultaneously. I decided back in December to re-read the Potter books and re-watch all the movies in 2016. I'm just finishing up the third book. I'm hoping to finish the books before the new one drops this summer, but I'm not sure that will actually happen. We'll see. I may wind up reading that new Cursed Child book in the middle of my re-read of the series.

Paxtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04883124901219059661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7857882.post-30821804820821027272016-03-28T08:50:45.058-05:002016-03-28T08:50:45.058-05:00Thats a pretty impressive viewing list for just se...Thats a pretty impressive viewing list for just seven days.

It seems we both decided to watch the Peanuts movie this past week. I'll agree that it seems to encompass the best aspects of the franchise, both from the strip and the specials. I was worried that a studio like Blue Sky wouldn't be able to handle such an adaptation, but they managed to pull it off beautifully.

I almost saw 10 Cloverfield Lane this past week, but went to see Zootopia instead, oddly enough because of your raving about Disney's Robin Hood. I thought for sure there would be some gag about the 3D animated animals sitting in a theater watching these 2d animated animals, but sadly that was not the case. However theres been no shortage of fan art connecting all of Disney's animated foxes together in one big family.Erik Johnson Illustratorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11184274387021011687noreply@blogger.com
