"I hope you didn't expect to find me living on some dreary mountain top, wearing some grubby old rags, and making some nasty old brew." -- Sabrina, Archie's Mad House #22

The Sabrina TV series was big when I was a kid (although I can't remember ever watching it myself) I am curious how much she was a part of the Archie stories. Between her and Casper it seems like there's quite a bit of haunting happening in the Riverdale-verse.

I think Sabrina was mostly in her own little corner of Riverdale, kind of like Josie and the Pussycats? That's just an impression though, I don't know for sure. I read a lot of Archie Comics as a kid, but Sabrina was never in them.

Casper wasn't Archie Comics though. He was published by Harvey, the Richie Rich folks.

It just seems odd how there's one supernatural character living in an otherwise normal world and their uncanny power doesn't take over the series. The closest thing I can think of like is maybe the Great Gazoo from the Flintstones... And even that's not a good example.

Yeah, Archie was never known for character development and continuity. Even though it's about high school, I imagine that its largest audience has traditionally been children and middle school kids. That's when I read it, before I started caring about whether the story's world made sense.

Ah, so THAT'S her last name!

And actually, Archie Comics has been exploring other themes and ideas a lot these past few years. Sabrina herself was a key player in "Afterlife with Archie", where she used the Necronomicon to try and resurrect Jughead's dog. Then there's "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"...

I need to read Life with Archie and Afterlife with Archie. I didn't jump on that bandwagon when they were coming out and now I'm thinking I should have.
